As you are walking through, you have to pass through a room where someone is sitting there and basically looking at what you're wearing.

But men were free to lay down anywhere they wanted.
And this was like a daily thing over and over again.
That was something I lived with every single day, walking through the street, going to university.
One thing to notice is in Iran, there's no need for a woman to consent.
No one asks for their consent for marriage.
No, they ask their father's consent.
So if I wanted to get married, my father would have to give me consent.
If my father didn't consent, I was not allowed to get married.

Even your father does not have a right to say anything.
That's when clerics have a divine authority over your life to consent for you.
And all women get, this is according to textbook of Quran, all women get is the dowry.
