It felt wrong to accept a CBS scholarship and not call out the direction that it's going.
Honestly, no.
I think I was pretty set on what I wanted to do.
I felt like it was a responsibility.

I told them there was a little bit of friction going in, but they supported me wholeheartedly.

Well, I got a lot of congratulations It started out as just everyone friends and family people that knew me getting a lot of texts from them Thank you.

and then eventually it turned into um the social media person from the emmys came up to me and was like variety made an article on you and like you're going viral and it was it was pretty crazy yeah you said you knew what you're going to say and you said you thought it would be i'm paraphrasing hypocritical of you to accept the award and not uh acknowledge that um why talk to me more about why well i think that um
I think it's a responsibility of the journalists to be able to receive money from an organization and still be able to say things that might go against the interests of said corporation.
I'm sure you receive sponsorships.
I think you should be able to receive sponsorships and still be able to
say something when the companies that are sponsoring you do something that you don't agree with.
And so I think that is a responsibility of the journalists.
