We're going to see guys graduate from the academy and we won't hear of them again until they're like 28, 29.

There'll be a void where they're not getting picked for their franchise sides because territories are going to pick the guys who they think will win them the tournament title.

And those guys tend to be the experienced guys.

Johnny Grave had been very clear that he wanted the regional players to be able to play 10 first-class games in a season.

Now that we've gone down to six regional sides, does this mean...

are we going to play five regional games in a season and then still have the three first-class games, Headley Weeks or A-Team Thorpe, or is it just going to be five?

Because I think if we're just relying on players to sort of develop to a minimum standard playing a five-game season, it's not going to happen, Mash.

You think of those five games, at least one will get rained off in the Caribbean, right?

So essentially, you're going to have players playing three or four first-class games and that's it for the year.

And that can't be good.

Yeah, five's not enough.
