Mash, firstly, of these six key areas, actual cricket and performance isn't listed, or technical sort of ability.

It sort of reads as if they've gone for a modern style of recruitment based on the fact that, from what they say,

chase is chase can communicate well he can talk well basically and he's respected within the team but then hold on how are you respected within the test team if you haven't played tests for the last two years so are they just basing it on his credentials in other sides in white ball sides and or just generally in the locker room and any cricket he plays is respected it's a very very ambiguous sort of selection criteria process they used in my opinion
