And so I just started this.
And I told my friend Alex, who was a singer-songwriter, much, you know, was writing much softer kind of music.
She wrote great songs.
great songs.
I used to play them on the radio show.
And she recorded it under the name Sherilla.
And she said, I want to start a punk band.
I said, what's your punk band going to be called?
She said Mermaid Island because the little girl she was babysitting told her her band should be called Mermaid Island.
So I said, if you put out a Mermaid Island record and I like it, I'll start my label officially and I'll put it out.
And then I went to see her play and the songs were
And I went, oh, yeah.
She's from Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia.
She's living in L.A.
now, but she's a Canadian artist.
So, yeah, that's my first release, No Dad Records.
