In saying all of that, if a Sydney Sweeney ad was to get a huge reaction, I am so glad that it's the reaction that we've seen.
Because female athletes around the world have collectively seen this ad and gone, okay, if you want to use women in a sporting context to get attention, let's talk about women in sports.
Let's actually talk about women in sports then.
There was an American gymnast, Gracie Kramer.
She was one of the first athletes to respond.
She's one that I saw early on.
She posted a reel of herself actually competing and looking incredible with the words, I don't know what Sydney Sweeney was doing, but this is what woman in sport looks like.
And then captioned it because it really is that deep.
Ariane Tipmus is another one who has been furious about this ad.
She called it an absolute.
joke and said that I can't describe how infuriated I feel when I watch this.
You know, people have been saying this is a kick in the face to women who have dedicated their lives to sport.
Swimmer Lani Palister said she had no words.
It just went on and on and on and on.
Like every it feels like every athlete, every female every female athlete was making these videos, but they were so fun to watch.
Every female.
Like I loved watching all of them.
I was like wow, that's so impressive everything that they're doing.
But again, at the same time, I'm just like, damn, this rage bait advertising only works if we all get angry and repost and debate it and turn it into international headlines.
I think it's annoying that that's worked again for Sydney.
