So they'd fall with parachutes.

They'd hopefully get to a safe house, passed on to the people working in the underground.

And then it was usually young women who took them at night from village to village.

Now, there was curfew at night.

No one was allowed to be out.

If you know anything about Holland, you know there's a lot of water and they built high...

roads called dikes to keep the water at one side.

And you'd have to walk along those dikes to the next village.

There's no lights.

And if anyone came, they'd have to roll off the dike into the grass pretending to be a young couple canoodling and hoping that they walk past.

Incredibly risky.

And she tells a story.

I think it was a Canadian soldier.

And they were walking along and they could hear a German group of soldiers coming with their boots and singing their songs.

So they rolled off into the grass and he got a bit frisky apparently.

He took advantage, I think, because she couldn't call out.

She couldn't do anything.

And I said, Mum, Mum, what did you do?

She said, I kneed him into balls.

He had as much to lose as I did.
