This is where people often get confused.

They think very low multiple stocks are value stocks, so they're cheap.

But it could be, you have to look carefully, if they're in cyclical industries, their earnings are at a peak.

And conversely, when their earnings are in a trough, their multiples look high.

from an investor perspective to be in a cyclical business because at least you have history as a guide.

If you're in a business that has no history or everything has changed, you can't use the past as a predictor of the future.

In my view, it makes cyclical investing, assuming there isn't some massive change in the business, lower risk than it appears at first glance.
