It's an urban firefly, and it doesn't really care about light pollution.
And we think one of the reasons for that is because it flies at just at sunset where it's really actually still quite light out.
And so it does fine under streetlights.
No problem.
On the other hand, there's about 10% of U.S.
fireflies that are not doing so well, that are some degree of threatened with extinction.
They use bioluminescent signals against a background of what used to be dark.
And as we light up more and more of the night,
It makes it very hard for these flashing fireflies to be able to see each other and to be able to find mates.

Right in the bullseye zone. You've hit it. And it is a piece of detective work in effect. And that's what resulted in this over 10 year journey, really, to find the moment in which we willfully disregarded the myths that let us believe in the idea that any race is superior to any other.

Also benutzen wir jetzt das Wort Kaukasier für Weißheit und das basiert auf der Idee von Johann Friedrich Blumenbach. Er hat die Caucasus-Region, also die Black Sea, als das sogenannte Heimatland der Weißen für drei Grundsätze definiert. Zuerst war es die sogenannte Schönheit der Frauen. Dieser berühmte Jeweler hat dargestellt, dass sie in seiner Reise-Narrative die schönsten waren.
Das war damals das sogenannte Datum. Die Symmetrie des Schuhs einer Frau aus der Proximitregion, die tatsächlich in sexuellen Slavery verkauft wurde, ein Georgischer Schuh. Und dann die biblische Lehre der Region. In Genesis gibt es Noahs Arzt, der in der Proximitregion aufsteht. Jason und das Goldene Fleece. Prometheus ist ein anderer Mythos.
Also, Schönheit, Mythologie und Symmetrie koherierten wirklich in dieses Ideal der caucasianischen Rasse. being superior to all others. And that's how we arrive at the term, right?
Die Mission damals war für ihn ein Erfolg. Er konnte eine Taxonomie und eine Hierarchie erschaffen, die seine soziale Ordnung damals legitimierte. Und wir leben damit heute.
