And she had lots of insider information, lots of local stories, because of course, none of the servants in the house lived in the house itself.

They all lived in Rathdrum and they had to come down the servant stairs to go and work in it.

lots of the families around here have their own histories of the house which is really interesting lots of the staff here are local as you say and lots of the visitors are too and we're here in the pavilion we also have the adventure playground to our left there's the seed cafe the walled garden and there's a jam-packed annual events calendar here so this has become a really key resource to those who call this area home sharon is the sales and events manager here and she knows all about it

You can't come to Avondale and not catch that increasingly iconic view from the treetop of the whole of Wicklow.

And there's no need to turn back on yourself when you do get up to the top because the 38 meter high structure comes equipped with Arlan's longest slide that will get you down in a mere 12 seconds.

Now, I believe you can be convinced down at Pat.

So I took the liberty of climbing to the top with manager John so we could test run the slide for you together.

And tell me about the wood we're walking on here now.

So I suppose we're in the fitness of our health.

What would this be like now for some of your older customers or maybe those who have difficulties with walking disabilities?

Is it an accessible attraction?

And do you get people up to the 100 range doing this walk?
