Why not try some positivity?

And as you say, it's all of their own doing.

So all the usual stuff, and I don't really generally believe into, you know, referee conspiracy theories and this, that and the other.

I just think it can be a split second decision.

Sometimes they'll get it wrong.

Most of the time they try and get it right.

I don't think there's any active kind of cell of like football officials, you know, trying to work and navigate the draw so that all the teams they want in towards the final are going to be there.

But the difficulty is, is that stuff festers when you have what happened with Balogun of the suspension.

It's not that his red card was rescinded.

It was that the consequences for that red card were suspended.

So why then...

Doesn't every other football association around the world, if they have that, what is stopping them saying, well, suspend this?

And even within the explanation of the suspension, it didn't explain why they were suspending it.

separate different clause but never explained why is this being suspended in clear terms so nobody knows why and then so it then creates this vacuum and this void that everybody speculates when you have the President of the United States coming out and speaking publicly about asking for intervention on it and saying it was you know in his view

And so they've done this to themselves.

I find that very difficult to listen to as a journalist and feel like, how can you not ask him when he's talking about the stuff he's talking about there?

I just think there's a big responsibility there.
