convention for some sort of VIP receptions and things.
And she is a very, very enthusiastic Trump supporter.
But I was talking to her about what do voters really need to hear from Donald Trump if they're going to support him because she recognises it's a bit of an uphill task for Republicans in the midterms.
And she told me that he needs to tell them that uh prices are going to be coming down.
That there's going to be more affordable access to health care, that people need better access to mental health care, uh, and that basically he needs to address the cost of living.
And I was listening to her thinking, you could be arguing for the Democrats here.
All of the things you're saying are what you would hear from a Democrat candidate.
It's just her
absolute devotion to Donald Trump and it's that personal following that he has, that kind of slavish following that will produce a lot of votes, of course, because even though she says, Look, prices are too high, um people are worried about the cost of food as well as about the cost of gas
You know, she hears all of the criticisms, but she still thinks that Donald Trump's the one who can do no wrong.
The results of these elections will definitely have a very big impact on who the Democrats pick as their presidential contender in twenty twenty eight and they'll have an impact on who the Republicans select as well.
If you were to see some of the progressive left candidates do particularly well, if they're right, that they can um drum up a level of um enthusiasm uh among voters that uh more moderate candidates aren't able to, then that could propel one of them.
to the forefront of the of the campaign and see that we would have a very different kind of challenger than if
candidates like Abdul El Said in Michigan or Troy Jackson in Maine are badly defeated, then we're less likely to see a a progressive getting to the forefront of the the the the Democratic nominees.
So it'll definitely have an impact there.
I wonder if it might have an impact as well on Republicans and who's likely to inherit the crown.
Uh it's very noticeable that JD Vance is giving a keynote address on Thursday night at this convention before Donald Trump then wraps up with what he promises will be a shorter speech than the one he delivered on Wednesday night.
