The attacker has been identified as twenty-seven-year-old Shane Tomora of Las Vegas, once a star high school football player.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams told MSNBC officers found a note with Tomorrow's body in which he mentioned CTE.
Chronic traumatic encephalopathy it's a degenerative brain disorder that has been associated with aggression and suicidality and commonly affects football players.
Adams also said it appears the shooter took the wrong elevator, winding up at an asset management firm instead.

Police have identified the gunman as twenty seven year old Shane Tamura from Las Vegas.
He was a star high school football player, and the building where the shooting took place houses the offices of the NFL, though at this time it's unclear whether there's a connection.
Authorities have only named one of those killed in the shooting, thirty six year old Didarul Islam.
He was an NYPD officer who was working as off duty security at the time.

The shooter has been identified as twenty-seven-year-old Shane Tamora, a Las Vegas man who entered New York City on Monday afternoon.
According to the NYPD,
Tomora's vehicle contained a loaded revolver, ammunition, and prescription medication.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams called the shooting a quote senseless act.
Authorities say that Tomorrow's motives, including why he chose the building on fifty second Street and Park Avenue, are still unclear.
That building houses the offices of the private equity firm Blackstone as well as the NFL.
