And I work with a lot of young women.
And over the years, a lot of women have gone on parental leave, myself included.
And it's funny you say that, because I always often used to say, you're having a baby, not a lobotomy.
So it's strange that, as I say, you use that word because it is true.
We do tell women, you don't know how you'll feel.
And also men at the other end of this experience, absolutely true.
You know, it's a transformative experience, of course.
And as discussed, babies come along with their own agenda and their own opinions and their own thoughts and you don't know.
And I think that's great that we all give ourselves that grace and we're like, this is what it's going to look like at 9am the next day.
I'll be here, here and here.
No one
for the most part, thinks that way anymore.
But I think the pendulum the other way where I don't even think about it or you might never want to work again is something that we tend to exclusively say to women.
And you have known yourself for 37 years and it's your identity.
And I was going to say I won't get on my soapbox, but look, Erin, I'm already halfway up the damn thing.
But I would imagine, you know, it's not like people are going to be saying that to Ben.
That's great.
And that you both have the support of one another to have your identity as much as you want to at the other end of this.
And I think that's what it is, isn't it?
Is sometimes we say if someone will, your identity is gone now.
