So very few people could understand the intensity of your life and the training regime.

I've obviously spoken a little bit about this during our conversation.

Does it help having someone that's got, you know, some obviously understanding and lived experience of what it is to be an elite athlete?

Even at your level, you just never know what someone else is doing.

Also, Kayla, you know, as you said, you have to make a living.

I remember reading an interview with you a few years ago, and I don't know if you still get asked this in mid-2026, but, you know, people are saying, what do you do for a job?

And there's this absolute tussle of this all-consuming job of being an elite athlete and yet the reality of paying the bills.

And the thing is, we want the best of the best.

We talk about the need for merit-based employees and recruitment in every job.

You can't have a system where only the people that can somehow fund getting to the Commonwealth Games or the Olympic Games that are going to get there.

It's just not going to work if we're relying on a user pay system.

And when you're obviously competing against other elite athletes from overseas, are there countries where you see they're doing a good job of funding in a way that we're not in Australia that you'd like to see replicated locally?
