You know how we talked about the Canucks and Quinn Hughes that they couldn't get to the final year of his contract.
You had to make a decision one way or another.
McDavid's a bit different because we're talking about one of the greatest players.
Some would say the greatest player in terms of pure talent of all time.
Is that a player that you would hold on to until the very end to see if you could make it work?
Or would you, after next year, make a move if you're not getting the commitment?
On the Anaheim Ducks side of things, what is it like when you play a team that's young like that and just, you know, doesn't know any better in terms of how they go about their business?
Because I was a bit worried about them going up 3-1 and then losing game number five and all of a sudden you have this veteran team.
You may have been looking past them, but the way they played last night and the way they were all over Edmonton early on, it showed quite a bit of maturity for a young team.

now Yannick obviously the Canucks are very much still in search of their new general manager we've heard a lot of names we've talked to in the past about Ryan Johnson you know him from your playing days of course as well one name that's been kind of bandied about and I'm not sure that this person would necessarily be a general manager but at least has had some discussions with the team and it has impressed them is Shane Doan what do you remember from Doan as a player and in terms of his character and if you hear his name being involved potentially what does that make you think
Do you think it helps the overall organization if you have somebody in, not necessarily the GM, but somebody in a higher position who was recently a player, is known as a high-character person who can set a good culture, be positive, and understands how players in this era work?
I mean, his son plays in the National Hockey League and Shane Doan, for instance.
And not just asking about Shane in general, but just that idea of having an executive who...
