Do you not want to have a buffer between management and ownership?
So to me, it just creates so many more questions if all you're doing is changing the people underneath the president.
Yeah, and it is fascinating, right?
Because we always see this every single year where the centers always move up as a draft goes on or we get closer to the draft.
And we're seeing that with Caleb Malhotra.
But he's been so prolific that it's not one of those by default he's being moved up.
I mean, the numbers, as you mentioned, are pretty astronomical for a player who doesn't turn 18 until June 2nd.
And you talk about his year with the BCHL last year, and it wasn't the most prolific year, 26 points in 44 games.
But it was his age 16 season as well, right?
So we're talking about a player who's a bit behind in development.
He's really taking off.
And I know that there's always this fear that the Canucks will reach and take the wrong player.
But I am so fascinated by this year's draft, especially with guys like Verhoff, Chase Reed, even Carson Carls.
And I know the Canucks probably won't do this, but it might be the year if you do have the third pick where you do consider trading down a spot or two.
But can you afford doing that in a market where we haven't seen a top three pick since...
What, the Sedins were drafted?
Brian Allen?
That's how far back we have to go.
Yeah, and we'll see ultimately how that goes here over the next little while.
And, you know, in terms of the Canucks head coach, Adam Foote, and how he's kind of gone about things this season, do you have any argument towards bringing him back outside of he was dealt a pretty crappy hand considering he came into it trying to keep Quinn Hughes having the hopes to be a playoff team and then all of a sudden, you know, the rug gets pulled out from under you, now you're rebuilding.
