I look at it and say the only way I touch that contract if I'm another team is if you're giving me something for it.

But he's played 21 minutes a game last year.

He's been averaging 22 and a half minutes per game his entire career.

Production-wise, it was a down year for him, 24 points, but generally a guy in the 30 to 40 point range every year.

He can play on the power play, has scored 16 goals in a season, scores double digits quite often.

Is there somebody that looks at that and says, we'll take that on for next to nothing?

Like, is there a team that's so starved for defense that would just take that on and just move a salary out without having to pay too much to acquire him?

I don't see it myself for if I'm running a team, but given how few defensemen are available, how hard it is to find these guys.

And are we almost too critical of Darnell Nurse as opposed to what he truly is?

Yes, because I think the expectation was he was going to be a franchise-type defenseman, and he hasn't turned out to be that.

But he's a legitimate second pair D-man though, right?

He's the number four.

And he's getting paid way too much for it.

But I'm just saying, I don't know if there's this big reward coming in a nurse trade, because I think there'll be somebody that trades for him that doesn't give up much, maybe throw some money back.
