Part of addressing the affordability crisis, there are two sides.

Well, Steve, it's a disgrace that this happened.

And the Chinese, it has started with a plan.

In 1995, they bought up a rare earth magnet facility.

They bought it from GM.

The CIPIUS, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S., said you got to keep the factory in the U.S.

for five years, five years and a day.

They moved it into China.

They've accumulated all the rare earth assets in the world.

They have control about 70% of the mining, about 90% of the production.

This one German company managed to stay in business as the Chinese cut prices, tried to put them out of business.

Now they have stood up this beautiful 500,000 square foot facility in Sumter, South Carolina.

for us to take control of our supply chain.

And Steve, these magnets are in everything, from fighter jets to iPhones to every car to every medical device to machines used for CAT scans.

And the Chinese use this as a big negotiating tool in April when President Trump raised the tariffs on them.

They tried to roll it out again on October 8th.
