And it's because, and actually another surprising financial reality is that when you find experts, they are cheaper and work faster.
For example, for us, for like the specific types of engineering we needed for this, like optical engineering.
we got burned by two product development firms that, like, I hate them.
They market to you, and their biz dev guys sell you on, like, oh, we've got this crack team of A players, and then they end up staffing you with C players who are literally learning how to code on the job.
Exactly.
And that happened to us twice.
And we were like, okay, like no more of that.
We need to go like actually find the engineers themselves who have this explicit, specific set of expertise.
And we found those people.
They worked faster.
They got the work done in a week instead of a month.
And their rate was lower because you're not paying for like a project manager on top of this whole thing.
And like, they're not learning on the job.
It was mind blowing to me that you could work with someone who was 10 times more talented and pay half as much.
Funny enough, we found an agency whose model is more aligned with that.
Got it.
So there are some agencies... Because the typical agency model is they have people on staff and they need to staff all of those hands, right?
They can't have idle hands.
And so...
That's why they sell you on the A team and then the A team ends up supervising work, but it's done by the B or the C team, the junior people.
