Yeah, so this is, I mean, it's been an incredible change, Ryan.
Imagine golf being played here in the 1400s and how wild that would have been with a wooden ball, probably a hardwood, not a softwood, but there's no mowers, right?
It's a concept of mowing grass.
So it was a target cross-country adventure from one patch of bent grass, fescue grass to the next.
And, you know, there was no sense of how many holes we're going to play.
It was wild out there.
You know, there was long, there was winds and there's gorse, sort of the same things.
Yeah, I think that's almost the point you've got to get to in your imagination, is almost imagining a place, a beachside location with no golf on it, and figuring out if you could.
And this is an early period, because they talk now that there was a period there in
1764 where the course became 18 holes and up in that point it'd be 22 and I try to think back to what was it in 1500s well it might have been three or seven or there was no number it was a you know you played from point to point and then at some point you decided to to come back um so what fortunately what we have in 1821 is the first plan like to be down in a match and decide get to decide when I come back that's right yeah I know we got to keep going game over I won
