I like...
making money, and I like my shares going up a trillion.
Frankly, right now we know it.
Due to the market being volatile sometimes, if I'm getting that check, if I'm getting that money in the mail, checking the mail or the deposit in the bank account, I'm getting something tangible from my investments.
There is something coming to me that I can say, yep, that's the thing.
And I've got to say, I've been doing this for years.
I still love dividends arriving in my bank account.
That's for income.
When one drops in, it's like, hey, you paid me?
for doing nothing, that's still a kind of a magical feeling.
So there is that.
There is a third two, mate, very quickly, which is a lot of people believe, and with some justification, that income-paying companies tend to be safer investments, higher quality businesses, less likely to be drawn asunder by economic circumstance or competitors.
Because if you've got the financial wherewithal to pay a regular dividend,
You're probably an established business.
You've probably got a good, decent cash pile.
We call it a solid balance sheet in the jargon, but enough money in the bank to pay regularly to your shareholders.
And you can do that without jeopardising the business.
It does infer quality.
It infers stability, maturity, and that can be a nice market for some people to do who are looking for that sort of business in their portfolios.
I didn't go to work.
