Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi noted Frank's legislation reigning in Wall Street after the mortgage meltdown nearly crashed the economy, which is one of the Massachusetts Democrats' biggest accomplishments.
But she also called out his humor and blunt style, like his response when she called him after hearing Republicans on the House floor denigrating people with AIDS.
Pelosi says Frank will be remembered for getting more federal funds for HIV-AIDS and for championing civil rights.
