Nate grew up in Tokoroa without a dad.

He went off the rails as a teenager.

He left home at 15 and spent his early 20s chasing the wrong things for the wrong reasons.

The day his eldest daughter was born at 26, something shifted and he spent the years since doing the deep unglamorous work of figuring out who he actually wants to be.

There's some difficult stuff in here that Nate has never spoken about publicly before, and we're really grateful he trusted us with his story.

This is one for anyone pulling themselves out of the shit or just trying to be a better version of who they were yesterday.

We're very excited to have you in the One New Zealand studio this morning.

I wanted to start by asking how you're feeling about being here.

Oh, I'm not going to lie, man.

Yeah, we're very excited, Tavia.

You're what we describe as a low-key legend.

And I want to tell the listeners how we got here.

So we're all based in Hamilton and have briefly connected at a few events over the last few years.

But then we linked up, me and you linked up for a coffee about six weeks ago.

And we sat down for about 90 minutes.
