So, you know, there's no getting away from the fact that they have broken promises.
It isn't really a reformist budget that Jim Chalmers wanted before the Middle East conflict.
You know, it's not going to put a burner on productivity, but there are things in there which, you know, abolishing negative gearing is a big step.
It definitely makes housing less attractive to investors.
That'll help Aussies wanting to buy and live in a home.
It does start the job of reducing tax breaks for the wealthy and giving them to workers.
Mind you, the gifts to the workers are pretty minuscule.
So, I mean, the budget...
It really depends on which side of the political fence you're standing on and how you're going to get hit.
Lots of unanswered questions, particularly around some of the capital gains tax and exemptions, potential exemptions for venture capital funds and those sorts of things.
So I think the devil will be in the detail, but it probably gets a pass mark.
