But it was the author, Earl Spencer, who has faced more awkward questions as he's had to make an embarrassing apology to Piers Morgan for a factual error in the book.
In his account, Earl Spencer describes how he personally rang tabloid newspaper editors to withdraw the invitations to Diana's funeral in 1997.
This included Piers Morgan, who the book blames for a Mirror newspaper story that intruded on Diana's privacy, with pictures of her exercising in a gym.
Except that Piers Morgan wasn't the paper's editor at the time, and he's calling for the publication to be stopped.
He's apologised
Well, in that case, I am asking for the book to be withdrawn.
In a statement, the Earl said his account of his conversation with Mr Morgan was accurate, but he wished to apologise that his assumption concerning his role at the Mirror was wrong.
It's understood the publishers, Penguin, are planning to make a correction in future editions.
