There were a couple of scandals that rocked Washington, D.C., and him specifically.

he allegedly got a an offer in the private sector that he could not refuse and he is resigning before the conclusion of this term it was actually before the 2024 election cycle there were thoughts that he was going to retire before even running for re-election um and reports are that it was the president donald trump who told him please run again because he was one of trump's allies in the house um

mark green retired he is uh not serving out the remainder of his term and so the seat is open and has to be filled via a special election that special election takes place on december 2nd in tennessee's 7th congressional district here's a rule of thumb that i like to give to people right because republicans have a turnout problem when there's no presidential election we know this it's a huge issue right once a month
