You can get a receiver in the second round, third round, who could be very, very good as well.
So maybe there is one guy who is super high on their board that they would do that for, but I'm just telling you typically receiver is not a position โ
that teams move up for, and especially so in a year like this where there could be like 15, even 18 receivers drafted in the top 100 picks of this draft.
I don't think in a Steeler uniform, but when you get invited to the draft, they usually do a pretty good job
of vetting that with personnel people and saying, yeah, this guy's going to be drafted in the first round.
They don't like to have those situations where guys are in the green room and they're not drafted.
So they probably have pretty good intelligence that one team is going to take him.
I would just be surprised, Austin โ
if it was the Steelers.
There's not been a lot of buzz about Ty Simpson.
They haven't had him in for a visit yet, and they only have until next Wednesday, April 15th, is the final day they can host these prospects, and he has not been in just yet.
um a tackle but a lot of people think he might play guard what if he's available ray who's the better player and would you advise the steelers to go with a potential guard yeah i mean listen the the really good athletic offensive linemen have no issue moving back and forth between guard and tackle you know we saw a guy like alan fanica do it if if you're a superior player
You know, it doesn't matter.
I think Ione is the higher-rated prospect.
I don't know that he would be a fit for McCarthy's offense.
I mean, he's a great player.
I think they could make it work there.
But, you know, he's going to run the West Coast, you know, his own scheme.
And, you know, I think Ione is probably a better fit for a power system.
If you're looking for a guard, Keelan Rutledge for Georgia Tech maybe in the second round for the Steelers.
