And at the beginning I was going to do, I think it was short track speed skating.
And I think it was going to be the first year.
And then of that event in the Olympics.
And then they said, Nope, Nope, Nope.
Um, we have an opening bobsled and luge.
Okay, so I didn't know anything about it, right?
So I went to Lake Placid.
I think we had to go because we were covering like the US luge trials as part of, there was an old show, I think it was CBS Sports Spectacular or something like that.
So we were gonna cover that.
So I had to go anyway, but I'm glad we did because of the conversation a minute ago about preparing.
The best way to do that was go up there, talk to the people.
And then they convinced me to do a luge run.
which I was almost not the youngest person ever to do the World Series.
They gave me about three minutes of instruction, gave me this tiny little helmet, which I have a big head, elbow pads, knee pads, and I had like a parka and jeans on, sent me from maybe...
two-thirds, halfway down the luge run.
It was still long enough.
And it was the most terrifying experience.
But it was a great way to learn because it was super fast, even though I was probably going a fraction as fast as the actual competitors do.
And then I started slamming into all the walls and fortunately made it to the end.
But it was a great way to learn.
