When he met Wolf, that's when he lost the juice.

And now with Wolf dead, he has that ability now that he did not have before.

But nothing else has changed other than moving a couple hundred miles to the west from Ohio to Indiana.

So a good storyteller is going to have a reason for the sacrifice.

And this is the best that we can come up with.
