Even though he has the clothes and the language, he doesn't quite fit in and he doesn't know how things work exactly and he doesn't know
how to behave himself or act in a certain way.
And he's able to get by in a lot of places, like when he meets the captain and they're confronted by Osmond uh and his whip.
He's able to to talk himself for a little bit.
And when he meets the family later on and when he's at the market, he can pass a little bit, but he's out of place in both worlds here.

I I agree.
I also liked how this idea that comes up that we already know about the twinners and how there are people who represent both are represented in both worlds, Jack's mom being the queen and the territories.
But this also this further idea that what happens in our world influences what happens in the territories and possibly vice versa as well.
