Firstly, just the product.

The product at Stripe was on a different level.

So I joined just before COVID.

And I joined when they really became serious about building in Europe.

So they had dabbled with a few engineers here and there.

But when I joined, the mandate was to scale up the organization.

So I joined just before COVID.

There were maybe 10 engineers who were trying to run and build the entire European payment infrastructure for Stripe at the time.

And if like they were completely underwater and needed someone to come in and help manage that, but to scale the team up.

Right.

It was clear that, you know, we needed to start scale.

And then what happened very early on, I think it was like my first three months COVID hit.

And when COVID hit, every business in the world took accepting payments online from like the 15th priority in their list to number one.

We have to do it today.

Today.

So I think, you know, there were like, I don't know, half a million merchants onboarded in the first three months.

And we were fighting fires when I arrived.

As soon as COVID hit, like the whole thing was just chaotic and on fire.

So the journey of Stripe is incredible.

I mean, Stripe is a place where, you know, when I build my own startup now at Seapoint, over half of the team works Stripe.
