I'm not one of these guys that's all about the career, although I do work a lot. But my family is very important to me, and the time that I do spend with them are very, very precious. You know, I kind of long for the days where I walked into a comedy club and, you know, no one really knew who I was and I had the challenge of kind of like winning them over. So now, you know, it's hard to maintain that level of excellence year in and year out, because I think when people come to the show, They're wanting to see equal to or greater than comedy that they saw the last time.

Listen, I'm one of these guys that lives in the negative. I'm not Mr. Positivity here where I'm like, oh, yeah, it's going to be greater the next time I go on tour. I look at this and going, I hope to God people come back the next time. So Madison Square Garden, I brought my kids on stage because I don't know if that's ever going to happen again. And I brought my mother and my father on stage.

So for two hours, I want people to come in there and say, wow, we saw a really, really great night of entertainment, whether it be myself or the two openers. So, yeah, no, I don't fear that at all. I tried everything from epidural shots to cupping, to massage, to yoga. I started doing this thing called Legree Pilates. And within two months, I almost heard my body kind of readjust into place. It was almost like there was a bunch of cracking. I was like, oh, wow. And then after that, the sciatica gone. And if you're living with sciatica, there's no pain.

I can't even explain the pain because it's so sudden and so sharp. and debilitating. Every morning I would get out of bed going, okay, is it gonna be gone by some type of miracle? And sure enough, walk into the bathroom, boom, it would just kind of collapse on the floor. So yeah, I would recommend Pilates to anybody dealing with any type of back pain.

I love that we're filming in Los Angeles. I get to see my family and sleep in my own bed. And I get to see Los Angeles in a way that I've never seen it before. You know, it's kind of a trip to be shooting at some of the places that I used to kind of go for a drink. We shot this Mexican restaurant and I remember going there in 1998 when I first moved to L.A. just to hang out and have a burrito.

And, you know, fast forward 26 years later, doing a TV show scene at the near the same booth where I had dinner when I when I first came there. So, yeah, it's and it's quick. You know, the way Chuck moves, the way he does the show, it's like we don't sit there and do a scene, you know, 12 times. It's like he knows what he wants.

As soon as he sees what what you know, what he likes, we move on to the next scene. So it's not a lot of repetition. And the days are short. You know, they're nine, 10 hour days. It's not like we're sitting there 16, 18 hours. So it's it moves that comedy has a pace. So I think Chuck being Chuck kind of knows that pace. And it's been a joy to do the show.

Yeah, those moments where I get to bring my family up on stage or if I'm in the crowd and my wife is taking pictures of my kids watch me on stage, for me, that's definitely sentimental. I started this career in 1998 with just me. It was no wife. There was no kids. It was just me in Los Angeles. I drove out there with my sister. I knew nobody.

I started working as a waiter at the Four Seasons Hotel. And, you know, to see it get to this point and then to share it with the people that I love the most is is really cool. So we could be in Madison Square Garden. We could be in Kansas City or Arizona, wherever it might be.

where are you you you i'm in i'm in naples florida i've been here for a week um at my in-laws house and uh if you know anything about naples florida uh everybody here goes out at five o'clock uh for dinner so uh i'm i'm in bed by 7 30 and it's still light out So I've been enjoying Naples, Florida for about seven or eight days, and I'm here until I get to Tampa.

listen let's get it let's let's uh truth be told nobody listens to my podcast uh so that i mean i'm not making my bones doing podcasting pete and i been doing the podcast for 12 years as like a labor of love so for for me podcasting doesn't translate into stand-up comedy it's two different things i mean it it's either you do stand-up comedy uh The way I did it was I just concentrated on stand up.

So the whole time was stand up, going up, you know, going to to a bowling alley, going to a bar and just making my bones doing stand up. Yeah, these guys are doing podcasting and a lot of people are coming out to see them because I think they fall in love with the personality more than maybe the stand up. But nothing really has translated to my audience more than stand up comedy.

I've been doing this for 30 years. So. The bookie is not dead.
