Here's the bottom line.

Needy families in Missouri should not be going hungry because a bunch of politicians in D.C.

can't figure out how to open the government.

I mean, that's the bottom line.

This is day 23.

This government shut down.

I was opposed to it on day one.

I'm opposed to it on day 23.

I don't want to see children in our state not be able to eat, have to miss a meal because the government is shut down and the politicians in Washington don't know what to do.

I just think it's ridiculous.

So I hope everybody will support this.

I don't know who could be against needy kids being able to eat.

I guess we'll find out because I'm gonna try to give every Senator the opportunity to vote on this.

I'm gonna take this to the floor as soon as I'm allowed to under the rules and I'm gonna try to get a vote on this.

But bottom line is 650,000 people in Missouri depend on help when it comes to the price of food and groceries.

And I don't wanna see these folks go without food.
