I don't want to answer a question that poses a hypothetical, but there's no getting around the point that sanctions need to be enforced.
Tariffs need to be imposed in a way that targets the countries that are buying Russian oil and gas.
China, India, if they were to stop buying,
Russian oil and gas, the flow of revenue fueling Putin's war machine would be drastically reduced.
The point is to end the war.
The whole purpose of sanctions and tariffs is to bring Vladimir Putin to the table so we can preserve Ukraine's sovereignty, guarantee its security, make sure its territory is restored.
