So that'll be fun.

So now we'll see if we start like arguing on air, like married couples, you know?
podcast-host
Right.

So anyway, speaking of dysregulation, let's get into our topic for this week, which is about screen time use.
podcast-host
And this topic actually came after I got a couple of questions in a 24 hour period, both about screens.
podcast-host
One was a therapist saying, what do you do when you have a session with a child and they don't want to transition into therapy because they're sitting there playing happily on their iPad?
podcast-host
And the other was someone who said that any time this kid gets dropped off at school that she works with, she goes into the school to see him.
podcast-host
But she said he just stands by the window the whole day waiting for his mom to come back because he wants her phone.
podcast-host
and same kind of like two sides of the same coin definitely both screen time related and this is something we really wanted to talk about because we know screen time can be very regulating for autistic kids specifically and adults we hear that constantly
podcast-host
We also know what the research says about screen time, which is a little frightening.
podcast-host
And we'll share that because we want to give you a full picture view of everything that we're sharing today.
podcast-host
But I think one thing that we don't talk about enough is how dysregulating it is for kids to transition away from screens.
podcast-host
And I think that's probably the root of the problem, honestly, is that maybe kids end up on screens for really long periods of time because it's so hard to get them off of it.
