So for our younger ones who aren't playing video games but might want to watch a video or something on YouTube, it is very easy to go to filter and you could pick videos like under ten minutes, under three minutes, and then you're actually allowing them to get to the end of the video. podcast-host

They're actually seeing the scene as a whole. podcast-host

So for us to take it away in the middle can be even harder for the way that their brain is processing that scene. podcast-host

So I would say whenever possible, if you have the opportunity to, like if you know that you need to get rid of the screen or take it away for something, then it's like you could go up to your child and you could put on the filter and you could be like, okay, let's pick one more video. podcast-host

But you put on the filter for three minutes and then you know that that video is only going to be three minutes because, oh my God, these videos these kids watch. podcast-host

that are hours, hours of crushing toys under tires. podcast-host

They just go on forever. podcast-host

So I think that filter is really, really helpful. podcast-host

And just thinking about how can you end at the end of a story. podcast-host

Same thing when you're turning off the TV, turning it off at the end of a scene as opposed to in the middle of a scene. podcast-host

So something else that we found really works for us, I know works for a lot of parents, is just... podcast-host

you really have to figure out what works for your household and kind of like what your household habits and routines are going to be and how can that be predictable. podcast-host

Like in our household, we always make sure that like screens are off before we brush our teeth. podcast-host
