I'm not saying there isn't a time to come out and defend your guys and to get on the umps and let them know that you care and that getting the calls right matters for you, not just the big clubs or not just the winning clubs.
There's a psychological element to doing that kind of stuff and to showing your team, hey, today this team doesn't have any fight.
fight the first call that doesn't go our way and see if we can wake these guys up because they look half asleep.
There are those elements.
But the overall idea that three, four times a year you're going to flip the food spread and tell everybody they're not eating or lock the door and scream and yell so everybody in the media standing outside the door can hear you going off, that that is the key to victory.
All the recent world champions prove it.
That's not what's winning.
Baseball is a long marathon.
It's not a time to go to the whip and sprint on mile 12 or mile 4.
It's to have a good pace the whole way, and if you're in contention at the end, then you can go to the sprint.
