But that's true.
And the same thing's true for the animals, you know, that we interact with and how we identify with maybe as a category.
It doesn't.
Yeah, I guess you're articulating something, Seth, that I just feel very similar about is that understanding the self as a narrative center of gravity and being able to talk about what it's like to be that entity, what it's like to be me or any other entity without invoking anything.
it being having some transcendent quality to it, it doesn't lose any of the moral or singular entity aspects to me.
So this is where I get back to what is the thing that I'm, what is this distinction that makes a difference here when it feels like actually I get everything I need and more.
In fact, understanding myself or my dog as a complex that moves through time that is constantly interacting and changing, it actually explains a lot more.
about our capabilities to change as well as all the constraints on our ability to become different kinds of people.
I think it actually enables you to have something like a transformational experience and be the same person, but a different person.
Dennett's account makes that possible in a way that in a natural way that I think is just, I've not heard anything that explains it.
It provides the force to make that even possible.
So to me, it opens things up.
It makes us more, it makes us and all entities that are imbued with souls, where here a soul is a center of gravity, which I'm just happy to use that word in this context, because I don't have to have it be something that is the part of me that is left over when I die, right?
Is that is a fantastic thing.
