So, having said that, how do I get kids to start to do these things that they need to be doing?

Well, what I do is I scaffold and

has to remember I said concrete versus um abstract.

It has to be concrete and eating an elephant, it has to be bite size.

And when I say bite size, I mean tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny bite size.

I I use an example where I say, All right, can you write a page and the student says no.

Okay, can you do a paragraph?

No.

Can you do a sentence?

No.

Can you do a word?

No.

Can you do a letter?
