We're carrying so much.
We just need to acknowledge there's only so much that we can do, right?
So we've got, we talk about a number of loads in the book.
There's cognitive load, which is simply the amount of overthinking, the to-do lists, all the things that are there that need to be done.
I've got to do the laundry.
I need to pick up the kids.
This deadline is coming.
And then you've got people who struggle with acceptance who are thinking, why hasn't that person replied to my email?
Do they hate me?
What did that person's comment mean in that meeting?
Did I say something?
So we're also overthinking about these things.
This makes our cognitive cup really heavy.
We also have an emotional cup, which is how many emotions we're dealing with throughout the day that we're not working through.
The stress, the anxiety, the frustration, the guilt, the shame.
We have a stimulation cup, which is how much time we're spending on social media.
how many dings and pings and tabs we have open.
But not only that, stimulation also comes from other people.
