As a black woman traveler, I have been in places where it was obvious that I that I was not very welcome there.

I've experienced, for instance, going to South Dakota.

And going to a hotel and

I witnessed all the white travelers getting better customer service to me, like they were coming well after me.

You know, get their room service, get checked in, and then I'll be left waiting and not even acknowledged.

And I've had that happen to me a few times, go into certain places.

And and when that happens, I tend to have to

Get out of my comfort zone and call them out on it.

Which I don't enjoy doing, but it forces me to have to step out of my comfort zone and and call the model.

And I hate

I hate conflict.

But being an autistic black traveller

In a situation where you're not wanted.

causes me to have to deal with conflict that I don't want to deal with.

And

You know, but I for the most part I'm welcome where I go, like

When I go to places where it's not a lot of black people for the most part.

I do feel welcome.
