Thank you so much, President Melvin and colleagues.

You may see that this was forward here without recommendation.

This is something that is being forced upon us from the state legislature to take remote public comment.

Some of you may remember that, and by the way, I am 100% in providing access to the public.

But some of you may remember that during the pandemic, we had to sit here for hours

sometimes at 2 in the morning and listen to people call in that were not constituents, that were from other states and from other countries.

And one, I certainly believe that if we cannot receive donations and support from people from other countries, we should not have to sit here and listen to them talk about the business of San Francisco.

And this has been brought to us without...

the opportunity for us to set rules and ways that we can do this to make sure that it is for constituents and folks who have a real reason to call in to a board meeting.

And so definitely not supportive of this.

The state legislature does not even take remote public comment for their meetings.

So how can we be forced to do something that they don't even do?

It just behooves me.

So I wanted to let you know why I came with that recommendation.

And I think it's terrible that this is being forced upon us.
