Yeah, so Jessamyn's talking about lots of new life and new species.

My story is about like widespread death.

I'm here for that.

So in the early 21st century, a large crater was discovered in the North Sea just off the Yorkshire coast.

And scientists argued a lot about what the cause of it was.

They actually got to the point where they did something very unscientific.

They put it to a vote of geologists.

I think that's hilarious.

I know.

Yeah, absolutely.

It was like very unscientific to do that.

But the geologists decided that it was something that had nothing to do with asteroids, right?

That it was something to do with volcanoes or moving of salt deposits.

And that was the reason.

Turns out they were all wrong or the majority were wrong.

And this is a new study with new data that's been able to show where this crater came from.

And it's a big one, right?

So it's like 700 meters under the sea, 130 kilometers from the coast.

And the diameter of the crater is around three kilometers.

So it's fantastic.
