He's not the kind of sort of louder, brash guy who goes into a lot of locker rooms.
He's definitely not in your face.
I think he's very much focused on the process.
But he has been ground down by his experience in New York, which we know is a very tough media environment as it is.
Those first three years at the Jets were really hammering.
You don't know how anybody can come out of the experience that he had there.
Just between bad play, the pressure on him, bad coaching, not in a franchise which set him up to succeed very well in the first place, I would argue.
And to say, well, where is his path to redemption?
And he was around as a backup for a couple of different seasons.
I think the sort of main springboard for him is going into San Francisco.
They have a very, very good coaching set up there.
And that's where he seemed to be moved up.
But what's been impressive for me is the last two seasons when he was a backup in San Francisco and then last year in Minnesota.
Like I was saying earlier, Kevin O'Connell, the head coach of Minnesota, is one of the most highly regarded offensive head coaches in the league.
And everyone's like, oh, well, it's not really Sam Darnold.
It's the head coach.
It's the system.
It's because he has Justin Jefferson, the wide receiver, playing with him.
It's yada, yada, yada.
It's not him.
