Like, I've never drank whiskey on its own.
But I was like, yeah, there's a stupid Jemison there.
I don't know who I thought I was.
I had a little snifter before it.
But yeah, I didn't tell anyone I was doing it and I just kind of felt like I snuck off.
I remember my housemate was out for the day and I was Grant and I was like, good, because he won't know and he won't know what I'm doing.
And then as soon as I finished, I texted everybody about it.
I was like, I just did stand-up comedy and it was so much fun and I loved it and it was amazing and I was hooked.
Like the first gig I did, David O'Doherty was the headline and I was like, that is nuts.
Like I didn't know that that was a pretty standard that like people are in the clubs like who are on the telly are often in the comedy clubs too.
There is, yeah, people think it's very blokey and there is elements of that, it's quite blokey, but there's also this lovely energy of looking after each other that happens in comedy.
I know it can be gossipy and all that stuff, but there is this kind of thing, I think there is something so lovely about, you can be really nervous some days or a big gig or something and you'll be nervous, you're pacing up and down, you're feeling sick, you're being a bit weird.
And nobody minds.
Everyone just lets you do that.
We just allow each other to be like that.
And you share that together and still be pals.
There's something lovely I love about that.
