It was super expensive and um and I thought, you know, it it would just be so cool if you could offer something that was affordable, um, that that would allow people to to receive the benefits of massage therapy more frequently.

My first experience with massage was really um

due to an injury, a recurrent injury that I had that kind of started actually in the gym, um, when I was, you know, w working out and and lost uh just m my back just started hurting, I couldn't stand up, couldn't move.

Um and this would happen pretty frequently a number of times throughout the years and I finally discovered massage therapy as as a way to uh as a way to take care of it and to get better faster.

So that's kind of where my love for massage therapy came and then the business model experience really came out of the the or the business model idea came out of a really bad experience that I had and I thought God I would just love to be able to get this more often for myself and I bet there's other people who who would be able to do so.

We we founded the business really with the mission to to elevate the lives of of people and initially that was to elevate the lives of of our customers, people who had um stress and pain, um needed, you know, needed to a a place to relax.

um but more so to be able to live their lives better um and to really provide a mind body experience that promoted well being.

And uh in order to promote well being you've got to be able to provide something that uh that people can do on a regular basis.

So so value.

So we opened the first Massage Heights up in April of two thousand four.

We're getting ready to celebrate our fifteenth anniversary.

uh as a company and um almost immediately we had we had guests and members coming in from all over San Antonio

saying, hey, when are you going to open another one of these?

Are you going to open up one near my home?

Uh this is this is so beneficial to me.

I wish you were more convenient.

And then people started asking us about, you know, the business model and how they could get in how they could invest.

Could they open one themselves?

And that was really how the idea of franchising uh came about for us.
