So I played through that transition.
And during that time, like I obviously came up learning the old school baseball stuff where like,
What you learned and where you learned it was pre- and post-game, talking to teammates and coaches about the game that we already played or the moment that just happened or whatever.
Now, I think, especially because I've had the opportunity to play in AAA and even in Mexico in the DR with some younger players, I've seen that...
in my opinion, and I might get roasted for this, but I feel like a lot of young players are now doing the game of baseball instead of playing the game of baseball because nobody's taught them how to play it, if that makes sense.
So with that being said, the answer to your question is I came up without the data.
Obviously, now data is king.
So, of course, I was using the tools and the iPads and the track bands to get my data because...
To get a locker, the data's got to essentially say that I'm going to be able to get people out.
So I've got to figure out how to get this data to say that I'm good enough to play here so that I can play there.
And then once you're there, it's like, well, at some point...
You've got to get the hitter out, too.
It's not just data.
So then you go and you pitch and you compete, and hopefully you get as many guys out as you can, and the data syncs up with how well you're doing, and then you get another opportunity, and the sky's the limit.
But it's definitely an interesting time in the game of baseball.
I know a lot of old-school baseball guys probably are not super happy with it, but this is the world that we live in.
When I got to the big leagues, we couldn't do what we're doing right now.
just on the phone, you know?
So like times, times has changed.
So adapt or die.
