At the end of the day, yeah.
The president of hockey operations is essentially the CEO and the general manager is the COO.
And I would treat them as a Fortune 500 company and they should run as such.
And the chief of staff is someone who moves between the different departments and tries to understand how they make decisions and why and help with the efficiency and the innovation inside of each of those departments.
Then how do they integrate all that information so that the management group can make decisions
you know, salient decision-making consistently and then do performance management.
It's one of the things that I've never seen, almost never seen in the NHL for hockey operations.
We always do performance management of the players, but what about the staff?
Like you're going to wait five years to find out that your amateur staff has done a poor job.
Well, that doesn't make any sense.
No fortune 500 company operates in that way.
So why should the NHL teams?
Yeah.
And that's what a chief of staff can really help with.
