That was poor wording on my part.

I wasn't upset at her for protecting herself.

It was more that I felt awkward and like I might have made her uncomfortable.

So I took it as a cue to back off.

I understand why women take those precautions and I'm not judging her for it.

This is to avoid having to make the same clarification over and over in the comments.
